Its been seven years since the Olomouc Museum of Art managed to organize a show representative works of the famous painter, sculptor and graphic artist Victor Vasarely Hungarian origin from the collection of Janus Pannonius Museum in Pecs. Since then, museum has endeavoured to acquire works by world-famous artist who has significantly influenced the development of modern post-war art and is considered a pioneer of op art. Thanks to good contacts with Vasarelys descendants and to supporting the Ministry of Culture, museum succeeded in 2014. So two significant acquisitions were added to museum collection – a tapestry Harmas from 1966 and a painting Terek from 1951, which will be presented. The exhibition was accompanied by a comprehensive set of 33 serigraphs originating from collections of the Fondation Vasarely in Aix-en-Provence in France, which had managed to expand the collection of the Olomouc Museum of art to a unique series of works by Victor Vasarely from the years 1951–1986.
