The tapestry originated during Vasarely's peak creative period and is one of his key works.  Basic geometric elements, squares and circles, in colour combinations of red, brown, beige, and grey overlap to create an impressive layered illusion.  The spatial layers intersect and divide each other into regular rhythmic units. The resulting effect is not as disturbingly tantalizing as other optically illusive works. The rhythm, the chosen colourfulness, and even the framing formed by a number of red circles, have a calming effect and give the tapestry great visual power with inner order.
